FIANDER, Kenneth Wayne "Ken" - 77, of Greenwood, NS passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2011 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late James and Gertrude (Barrett) Fiander. Ken retired from the Royal Canadian Air Force after 26 years and was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 98 Kingston and # 107 Valley Wing RCAFA. He was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan and the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his wife the former Mary "Molly" Hines, Greenwood; daughter, Carol Gillis, St. John, NB; sons, Robert "Bob" (Vicka) Fiander, Ottawa; Brian Fiander (Joy Blenkhorn), Wilmot; Shawn (Kathy) Fiander, Cole Harbour; grandchildren, Kenny, Laura, Erica, Beth, Lindsay, Kyle, Shamus, Brianna and 7 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by daughter Sheila Creemer and several brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held 7-9PM Friday, October 7, 2011 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 where funeral service, followed by cremation, will be held 11:00AM Saturday, October 8, 2011with Rev.
