LOHNES, Laola ~ Age 93, of Auburn, Kings Co., N.S., passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, surrounded by family members. Born on December 17, 1931, in Moncton, New Brunswick. Raised in Ontario, where she met her husband, Mel, from Nova Scotia. They returned to Nova Scotia in their retirement to run Mel's Hotdog Cart in 1995. Mel passed away in 2000. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her stepdaughter, Gail Levy, and shortly afterwards by Gail's husband, Dan Levy; stepson, Arnold (Annie) Lohnes. Surviving are four grandchildren, Gregory Levy, Berwick; Jeffery Levy, New Minas; Shawn (Sara) Levy, Falmouth; Christina (Dana) Rowley, Grand Bay-Westfield, New Brunswick; great granddaughter, Danielle. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Graveside service will take place at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, July 19, in St. Mary's Anglican Cemetery, 20 Morden Road, Auburn, with Postulant Twila Robar-DeCoste and Lay Minister John DeCoste are officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Mary's Anglican Cemetery. The family would like to say a special thank you to Peter Fancy for all the help and assistance shown to Laola over the years. Also, appreciation for the care and compassion shown by the Victorian Order of Nurses and the staff at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton and Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.
