RITCEY, Laura "Frances" Winnifred – age 92 of Torbrook Mines, NS passed away Monday, April 10, 2017 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Brooklyn, Annapolis County, she was a daughter of the late Guilford and Irene (Patterson) Payson. Frances was a member of the Torbrook Mines United Church and devoted her life to raising her family, whom she loved dearly. She was an avid bingo player, enjoyed reading, knitting and loved her daily crossword puzzles. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Peter) Barkhouse, River Philip, NS; Brenda (Rod) MacDonald, Port Hawkesbury; Jennie Lynn (Russell) MacIsaac, Stoney Plain, AB; her sons, Edward (Veronica) Ritcey, Campbell River, BC; James (Sandra) Ritcey, River Philip, NS; Robert (Susan) Ritcey, Torbrook Mines; step-son Norman (Pat) Ritcey, Edmonton, AB; Adopted brother John (Lynn) Nixon, Kingston; grandchildren Heather, Bryan, Darlene, Jillian, Andrew (Katelyn), Robert (Chantelle), Joe (Elisha), Debra (Trevor), Nick, Kelly, Matthew, Lori, Nicole (Philip), Robin (Jason), Kristy (Darren), Kathleen (Kirk), Jessica, Kyle and eighteen great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Donald Norman, son Ronald; grandson James; brothers Doug, Lloyd, Bernard; sister Barbara and her husband Gordon Swinamer. Funeral service will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, April 19, 2017 in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Gayle MacDonald officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Interment will be in Torbrook Mines United Cemetery.
