Obituary

BANKS, Lawrence James - age 93, East Margaretsville, Annapolis Co., passed away on Monday, June 8, 2015, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Middleton, he was a son of the late George and Margaret (Cassidy) Banks. Lawrence was a life-long farmer, owning and operating the family farm. He was a great apple picker and at one time had helped his brother, Earl with his fishing operation. Lawrence was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Wilfred, Earl, Glendon and Harold; sisters, Edith, Clara, Verna and Viola. There will be no visitation. Memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 15, in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Eugene Foster officiating. Interment will be in the Church Grove Cemetery, Melvern Square. Family flowers only, donations in his memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to any charity.
