BANKS, Lawrence Keith - 91, of Digby, NS passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 in the Annapolis Community Health Centre with family by his side. Born in Middleton, he was a son of the late Charles and Minnie (Marshall) Banks. Lawrence came from the valley to Digby in the mid 40's. While in Digby he operated several small businesses. He never really retired and was always helping his children with their wants and needs. Lawrence enjoyed driving his truck and camper across North America visiting several small towns along the way and he was a loyal member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. He is survived by his daughters, Joan Germaine, Digby; Judy (Gary) Edwards, Bridgetown; Linda Woods, Digby; Peggy (Chris) Bishop, Tupperville; Janie (Danny) Beals, Lower Sackville; sons, Lawrence "Sonny" (Dianne) Banks and Rodney (Eileen) Banks, both of Digby; grandchildren Susan, Karen, Jim, Sherry, Mark, Cindy, Tamara, Michael, Jennifer, Gregory, Jenna, Kyle, John, Paul, Christopher, Alison, Darren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife the former Florence Best; sisters, Etta, Freda, Marjorie, Elsie, Minnie; brothers, Lloyd and Ernie. Visitation will be held from 1:00PM - 2:00PM Sunday, December 23, 2012 in the Digby United Baptist Church where the funeral service beginning with a Masonic Lodge tribute will be held 2:00PM Sunday, December 23, 2012 with Rev. Donald Robertson officiating. Interment will be in the Fundy View Cemetery, Port Lorne. Donations in Lawrence's memory may be made to the Digby United Baptist Church or to the charity of choice.
