Obituary

BAILEY, Lee Roger ~ Age 82, of Auburn, Kings Co., N.S., passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026, in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born on July 9, 1943, in Manchester, England, he was a son of the late Lewis and Karina (Lee) Bailey. Lee immigrated to Canada with his parents at age 14, first living in Toronto, working at CBC Radio and later at CBC Radio in Halifax, once visiting Sable Island as part of a story. He then became producer and manager at Mid Valley Cable (later Bragg Communications) in Aylesford, until his retirement. Lee organized the Christmas Mommies and Daddies Telethon each year for the children in the local area. He was a jack of all trades and a lover of cats. Lee enjoyed reading books, spending time on the computer and loved anything sci-fi. He was a proud foster parent to many children over the years. Surviving are his daughter, Georgina Bailey-Sanford (Brad), Auburn; sons, Robert (Amanda) Bailey and Michael (Corrie) Bailey, both of Ontario; numerous grandchildren; a great granddaughter; sister-in-law, Cindy Bailey, Collingwood, Ontario; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Brian; sister, Joyce; two nephews. There will be no visitation or service. Donations in his memory may be made to Kings Co. S.P.C.A.
