Obituary

TOUSSAINT, Leo Robert -81 of Clarence, NS formerly of Acton ME, passed away quietly at home Sunday, April 24, 2011. Leo was born in Sanford, ME, where he grew up. He was the son of the late Robert and Yvonne (Lamontagne) Toussaint. He was a truck driver and mechanic. Leo retired from Vito Mininni Inc. Masonary, in Biddeford where he had worked for many years. He is remembered for his enjoyment of times spent on the lake in his boat, riding his motorcycle, using his camper trailer, working on and touring around in his antique cars, farming and animals. Leo moved to Nova Scotia in 2003with Ruby, his wife of 25 years. He had a large family of nine children and five stepchildren and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed keeping in touch as much as possible. How he enjoyed the phone calls, visits and getting back to Maine. He was looking forward to a trip this spring. Leo was a good cook. Family and friends have enjoyed the meals and treats like fudge, doughnuts, flapjacks and more. He enjoyed listening in on the CB radio, his handle was Toot. He is survived by sons, Ronald (Deborah) Toussaint, Indianapolis, IN; Ray (Cathy) Toussaint, Gaston, SC; Leo Toussaint, Jr., Biddeford, ME; Michael Toussaint, Hollywood, FL; Daniel-Beaver-Martin, Standish, ME; Robert-Toot (Bonnie) , Gaston, SC; daughters, Debra MacDonald, Seneca, SC; Mary Jane (Norman) Page, Canaan, ME; stepson, Jeffrey Martin, Champlain, NY; stepdaughters, Anita (Tom) Whittaker, South China, ME; Linda Poole, Port George, NS; Brenda (Sherman) Trimper, Torbrook, NS; sisters, Lorraine Coomes; Cecile Fredette; Delores (Ralph) Robinson and Theresa (John) Sansoucy. Besides his parents, Leo was predeceased by his wife, Ruby Toussaint; infant daughter, Donna Toussaint; brother, Roland Toussaint; stepdaughter, Sharon Wing; grandson, Christopher Hamilton and an infant grandson. At Leos request, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, Middleton, NS, (902) 825-3448. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00PM, Sunday, May 1, 2011 in the United Pentecostal Church, Middleton with Rev. Dean Dickinson officiating.
