PELTIER, Leona Mae - 80yrs, of Greenwood, NS passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2014 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in St. James, Manitoba she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Lillian (Isbister) Peltier. Leona devoted her life to raising her family and she was all about family. She loved cooking, baking and sewing. Leona was very traditional and believed in the "old ways" of doing things. She was a very spiritual person and a devoted Christian. She is survived by her husband, Edward Dowling; daughter, Patricia Dowling, Greenwood; sons, Douglas Dowling, British Columbia; Alexander Dowling, Sackville, NS; John (Celeste) Dowling, Oromocto, NB; sisters, Gertie (Leo) Baron, Winnipeg, MB; Audrey Foster, Winnipeg, MB; Ruby (Edward) Dauphines, Harperville, MB; brother, John Peltier, Grosse Isle, MB; grandchildren Kristin, Sarah, Michael, Alaina, Shane, Justin, James, Nick, Ember, Stephen; great- grandchildren Jordan, Jacob, Journey, Lydia, Myriam, Joseph, Gabriel, Dyson, Gavin, Austin and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son George Dowling; brothers Eugene "Buck", Joseph, Basil "Taddy" and Raymond. By Leona's request, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice.
