WATKINS, Leonard H. - age 66, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, November 28, 2015. Born in Yarmouth and brought up in West Port, he was a son of the late David and Julia (Wyman) Watkins. Leonard was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 1, Middleton, as well as a member of Nictaux & District Volunteer Fire Dept. A jack of all trades, fisherman, plumber, enjoyed wood working and carpentry, boat carving, milkman, worked at farmers dairy for years, truck driver, for last year he worked part time for Steve Morse doing odd jobs. Leonard is survived by his wife, Mary( Bent); daughters, Tammy Watkins (James Smith), Kingston and Stacy (Matthew) Barteaux, Port George; son, Cody Watkins (Amanda Connell), Bridgetown; sister, Venora Ellis, Elliott Lake, Ont.; half-sister, Helen Bower, Lockeport; brother, Calvin (Carol) Watkins, Grand Manan, N.B.; grandchildren, Tyler, Danielle, Alex, Jessica and Desiree; great grandchildren, Alice, Jacob, Dyson, Dawson and Sophia. He was predeceased by daughter, Lisa, brothers, David and Reg and half-sisters, Violet and Myrtle. In keeping with Leonard's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place from 1-4 p.m., Saturday, December 5, 2015, in the Nictaux Fire Hall, 9349 Hwy. 10, Nictaux. Donations in memory of Leonard may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Victorian Order of Nurses, Annapolis Valley Branch.
