Obituary

Suddenly but peacefully Leota Emily "Lee" Longley of Wolfville died at home on Nov. 13, 2018. Born in Wolfville on Oct. 21, 1938 she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Mary (Schofield) Tanner and Lydia (Weatherbee) Tanner who became her second mother after Mary died. She is survived by her children Colin, Pam (Gary), Glenda, Leslie (Glen), Tracey (Wayne), Stephanie, Tara (Al) and Scott (Tanya), 22 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, her brother Murray Tanner (Joan), numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and two sisters-in-law. She was predeceased by her husband Donald "Buck" in 2005, an infant daughter Maria Leigh, two great-granddaughters and a brother in infancy. Leota loved her family unconditionally and said they were her greatest accomplishment in life. She cherished her friends and the time spent with them. For 19 years she held various positions at the Old Orchard Inn and enjoyed making crafts. Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, November 21 st at Wolfville Baptist Church with Jennifer Longley officiating, followed by a reception. Family flowers only. Memorial donations in Leota's memory can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of NS, Lung Association of NS or a charity of Choice.
