January 15, 1931 – April 30, 2025
White, Lilla Mae - 94, of Wilmot, formerly of Kingston, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2025, in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Saint John, NB, she was a daughter of the late Avery and Lilla (Haynes) Sanford. Lilla was a homemaker who took great care raising her boys, teaching them the value of a hug and providing wonderful meals. In early days, Lilla babysat children, worked as a house cleaner for several in the community, was a factory worker and was involved in processing fall fruit. She also was a waitress at the Wolfville Hotel. In later days, Lilla also found a great love for painting. She painted many beautiful farm scenes. Singing was a passion of hers; "The Neighbours" was their singing group made up of friends and family. Known for her quick wit and stinging one-liners, Lilla enjoyed watching the birds and having a good cup of tea with a friend. She spent many a Sunday at the Kingston United Baptist in years past. Surviving are her sons, Steve (Lauraine) White, Kingston; Matthew (Christina) White, Sussex, NB; grandchildren, Nathan (Sehui Park), Fredericton, NB; Shala, Kingston; Molly (Moriah), Sussex, NB; Luke (Baylee), Nashville, Tenn; Ace, Charlottetown, PEI; as well as Melissa Coleman and brother Shawn Coleman; great grandchildren, John Gabriel, Oliver Champion, Jacob, Jackson, Alexander, Lincoln, Aaliyah, Emma, and Roman; step great granddaughter, Victoria Park; sisters, Eveleen, Margaretsville; Doreen, Middleton. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Richard; sisters, Edith, Marian, Margaret, and Doris; brothers Lloyd, Avery, and Vernon. Visiting will be 12:00 -1:30 pm with funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448. Pastor Neil Armstrong officiating. Interment in Tremont Cemetery, Tremont. Donations in memory may be made to Tremont Cemetery.
