WHYNOT, Lillian Ruby May age 89 of Bridgetown formerly of Nictaux Falls passed away Wednesday, March 30 2016 in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Lillian was born in Eastbourne, Sussex, England and came to Canada as a war bride aboard the ship Letitia in 1946 arriving at Pier 21, Halifax. Lillian was a member of the Nova Scotia War Brides Association and the Nictaux Baptist Friendly Auxiliary. Lillian enjoyed bingo, knitting, playing cards and line dancing. She is survived by son, Kenneth (Geraldine) Whynot, Dartmouth; daughter, Nadine Balcom, Middleton; grandchildren, Marty (Crystal) Tattersall; Janet (Neil) Northrop; Randy (Shelby) Whynot; Jennifer (Phillip Dukeshire) Whynot; great grandchildren, Katelyn, Lauren, Melanie and Owen. Sisters, Jean and Sheila; brothers, John, Eric, Roy and Allan all of England; son-in-law, David Tattersall and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Charles Whynot (2001); daughter, Jean Tattersall (2001); son, Frank Whynot (2009) and son-in-law, Ricky Balcom (2015). By Lillian's request, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Monday, April 4, 2016 in the Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main Street (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Bill McLeod officiating. Interment will be in the Nictaux Cemetery. Her family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Mountain Lea Lodge for the care and compassion shown to Lillian during her time there.
