CRAWFORD, Linda May – Age 67 of Wilmot, passed away Wednesday, December 13th, 2017 in the VG Site, Halifax, after her brief struggle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.  Born in Middleton, she was a daughter of the late Otto "Wilbur" and Florence "Eileen" (Hudgins) Nixon.  Linda was devoted to her family and always giving to others.  She was an excellent cook and shared this gift continually with those around her and the community. Linda was an active member of the Melvern Square United Baptist Church where she served as a Deacon and on several other committees. She also helped to organize the annual "Happy Memories" Memorial Service for the Church Grove Cemetery in Melvern Square for many years.  Linda was a past member and former chair of the Social Committee at the Birch Cove Baptist Church, Halifax. She is survived by her loving husband, Stuart; daughters,  JoAnne (David) Swaine, Courtice, ON, Pamela (Wesley) Gilmore, Courtice, ON, Kimberley (Dustin) Crawford, Kingston; son, Gregory (Nicole) Crawford, Timberlea, sisters, Janet Buckler, Berwick, Sylvia (Gary) Walsh, Hantsport, Rosalie (Eric) Stewart-Fisher, Shubenacadie, special cousin, Phyllis (Brian) McNutt, Bedford, grandchildren, Michael, Trent, Jeffrey Swaine; Lauryn and Katelyn Gilmore; Ewan and Kenna Crawford; Austin, Kennedy and Bennett Crawford as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 6:30 – 8:00 pm on Saturday, December 16th at the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St. Middleton 902-825-3448, followed by cremation. There will be a Memorial Service at 2:00 pm, Monday, December 18th in the Melvern Square United Baptist Church with Rev. Elizabeth Amirault officiating, followed by a reception.  Interment will be in Church Grove Cemetery.
