Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we share the sad news of the passing of Linda Fay (Joudrey) Harris on Saturday, March 21st., 2026, in Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born at Berwick Hospital on March 8, 1948, to the late Chester and Eileen (Pointer) Joudrey, she was a lifelong resident of Morristown building her home beside the one she grew up in.

She is survived by her dedicated husband of nearly 56 years, Brian; and her two daughters – Nicole (Fred) Corkum of Antigonish, and Kelly (Andrew) Belo of Ottawa, Ontario. She is also survived by her brother, Alan Joudrey (Tracy) of Winnipeg, Manitoba; and four grandchildren she utterly adored - Liliana, Isla, Evangeline, and Harry. Linda was predeceased by her sister, Wendy, and brother, Glenn. She was loved by all.

Quick-witted and with a keen mind for numbers, Linda's education began in Morristown at a one-room schoolhouse and ended with a diploma from Mack Business College. Her early career began at the Royal Bank in Berwick as a teller and continued at branches in Dartmouth, Halifax, and New Minas as a junior accountant. Linda spent many years managing the books for her husband's carpentry business and routinely used her organizational strengths to gently yet consistently remind Brian to send out bills and collect payments. Linda finished her career working for Canada Post in Aylesford; a job that brought her joy and she excelled at. She enjoyed multiple jobs in between and forged lasting connections with many former colleagues.

Linda was known for her love of fitness and health and could often be seen traversing Morristown on her daily walks. She also loved finding a great bargain at Frenchys. Linda was a fantastic cook and enjoyed hosting many family get-togethers. She took pride in filling her family to the brim with homemade dishes. In 1980, Linda and Brian purchased their cottage from Linda's father. The cottage on Lake Paul was truly Linda's happy place where she loved to swim, sunbathe and play cards. In 1985, she and Brian began renovating their cottage into the place it is today. She relished time spent there with her own family, siblings, niece and nephews. Linda's final years were spent as a resident of the Grand View Manor. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the GVM for their care and support over the last several years.
