HAVEN, Linda Suzanne ~ age 74 of Middleton, NS passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 7, 2019. Born in San Bernardino, California she was a daughter of the late Samuel Neil and Bertha May (Fletcher) Bollong, Jr. Linda retired after 20 plus years as a Medical Technologist having worked in the lab at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. She was a member of the Board of Directors with Mid-Valley Palliative Care and was previously a member of the Board for the Revolving Door in Paradise. Linda served as Board member with the Twelve Baskets Food Bank in Nictaux and was a member of the Nictaux Baptist Church, having served on various committees. Linda had a deep passion and love of Miniature Long Hair Dachshunds, which she enjoyed showing in conformation, obedience, rally obedience and with the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog program. She was a member of two Dachshunds Clubs in Canada and was a member of the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) for many years. Linda is survived by her sisters, Lillian Michelle "Missy" (Bollong) (Rushton) and her husband Robert Hanover, California, USA and Dr. Diana "Di" Faye Fletcher, Arizona, USA; niece, Andrea (Joe) Rocha, California; nephew, Christopher Alan (Janelle) Rushton, Colorado and "My family by choice", Judy and Ken Pickrem; East Kingston, NS and Janet and David Taylor, Middleton, NS. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Samuel Steven "Steve". In keeping with Linda's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00PM Friday, September 13, 2019 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Bill McLeod officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Donations in Linda's memory may be made to Mid-Valley Palliative Care, Nictaux Baptist Church or Oaklawn Farm Zoo.
