Obituary

SLUSARCHUK, Linda Margaret – 75 of Nictaux, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the QE II Health Sciences Centre, Infirmary Site, Halifax. Born in Montreal, she was the daughter of the late James and Lillian (Thompson) Joiner. In early years she was a Foster Mom to many, many children in Ontario and a lover of animals, taking in many strays over the course of time. Linda was a faithful member of the Middleton Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughters Kristi (Ken) Broadbent, Essex, Ontario and Kelley (Darrell) Barney, Nictaux; son Jeffrey (Jesse) Marr, Kingston, Ontario; step-children David Slusarchuk, Barrie, Ontario and Cassity Potter, Barrie, Ontario; grandchildren Joshua Marr, Justin (Lisa)Webb, Lily Marr, Ava Marr, Sean Barney and Erin Barney; step-grandchild Jocelyn Kingswell and step-great grandchild Havok Kingswell. Linda was predeceased by her husband Murray in 2013. By request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 2, 2017 in the Middleton Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Smith and Rev. Robin McCoombs officiating. A reception will follow the service in the Family Life Centre. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Middleton Baptist Church.
