Captain Lindsay Wayne Titus
February 17, 1951 - May 30, 2019
TITUS, Captain Lindsay Wayne ~ on May 30th, 2019, the family of Captain Lindsay Wayne Titus bid him farewell as he departed this life to set sail on his spirit voyage. Born February 17, 1951, Lindsay was a fisherman his entire life, up until his illness. He had fond memories of seining with his father and could name any seiner and crew in the East Coast fleet. He also went handlining, trawling and lobster fishing, most recently as captain of his lobster boat, Sea Quiz. He delighted in sharing the bounty of the sea with others, and many friends both old and new enjoyed a feast of seafood at his island home. Lindsay was proud of his children and grandchildren and loved Canada and Nova Scotia. He liked watching a good hockey or baseball game, which he often refereed by shouting at the TV when the Jays or Habs weren't playing the way he thought they should. He was a fixture on Westport's wharves and along the waterfront. When walking to his fish shop he often stopped to chat with fellow fishermen and friends. He liked cribbage, chocolate, "fid"dling around the shop and "going for a scuff." Unbeknownst to many, he had an uncanny ability to carry any tune beautifully. Lindsay is survived by his wife Cindy, who was the love of his life; daughter, Laura (Sean McDormand) of Brier Island; son, L. Shane (Bridget Rowe-Titus) of Glen Williams, ON; daughter, Ashley (Jared Patterson) of Sylvan Lake, AB; grandchildren, Ella, Landon and Weston Patterson, Siena and Sophia Titus; mother, Hazel Titus; brothers, Arnold Jr. Titus, Clifton (LaReta) Titus, Melvin (Marnie) Titus; sister, Marilyn (Ron) Marshall; sister-in-law, Diane German; mother-in-law, Lorraine Bezant; brother-in-law, Randy Bezant; many nieces, nephews and 'heart family.' He was predeceased by father, Arnold; sister, Linda; brother, Everett; and sister-in-law, Jean. As per Lindsay's wishes, cremation has taken place and a family service will be held at a later date. In Lindsay's memory, his family would suggest that you perform an act of kindness for someone in need. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free 1-855-825-3448. Online guestbook may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
