Obituary

POWERS, Linton Ray ~ Age 92, of South Berwick, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born on December 27, 1932, in New Germany, Lunenburg Co., he was a son of the late Willis B. and Della M. (Corkum) Powers.

Upon moving to the Annapolis Valley, Linton first resided in Rockland and worked at various places including the Berwick Register, Illsley Electric, C.B. Robinson and Ed Twig Service Station. In 1960, he opened Powers Body Shop, South Berwick, that he operated for many years which is now carried on by his son. Linton had been a member of Blue Mountain Black Powder Range and I.O.O.F. Lodge, Berwick.

Surviving are his children, Judy Powers-Mansfield, Cambridge; Carol "Sue" Baxter-Nixon (Mark), Margaretsville; Cindy Crocker (David), Black Rock; Mark Powers (the late Jeannie), North Alton; Angel Martin (Peter), Berwick; grandchildren, Troy Stoddart; Tracey Stoddart; Cody Baxter; Jessica Baxter; Gabriel Crocker; Amanda DesRoches (Stacy); Kelly Carter (Dean); Robyn Martin; John Silver (Tracey); great grandchildren, Lyndsey, Danielle, Tanner, Ryley, Dawsyn, Nolen, Cameron, Ryane, Shawn, Charlotte, Ellie, Cash, Sophie, Chase, and Savannah; great great grandchildren, Ezra, Eli, Luca, Laelah, Emmy, and Bentley; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife of 71 years, the former Evelyn A. Hiltz (married on October 21, 1950); son, Christopher Powers; great grandson, Brodie Carter; great granddaughter, Alexis Stoddart; sisters, Gloria (Donald) Cunningham; Arlene (Gene) Hulit; brother, Laurie (Parnell) Powers.

Visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, July 3, in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448. Funeral service followed by a reception will take place at 2 p.m., Friday, July 4, in Berwick Trinity United Church, 240 Commercial Street, Berwick. Rev. Mary Jo Harrison officiating, assisted by Rev. Ivan Norton. Interment in Berwick Cemetery. Donations may be made to Berwick Food Bank.
