CONNELL, Loris Keith ~ age 90 of Middleton, passed away Monday, July 22, 2024, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in East Inglisville, he was a son of the late Ralph and Myrtle (Barkhouse) Connell. Loris was a businessman in the community for many years. Beginning in the early 1960's he started a career in vehicle sales both personally and with C.V. Chute Ford. He later owned and operated franchises for Massey Ferguson, Toyota, General Motors, and retired in 1994 after 12 years as the local dealer for Chrysler Canada. His vision survives him still. During this time, he developed and built several properties in Nictaux and Middleton. He also found time to volunteer with the Middleton and District Lions Club. He spent his retirement gardening, meticulously keeping their lawn and playing music which was the joy of his life. He is survived by his wife of 54 years the former Audrey Bruce; daughter, Lori Kimoff; sons, Chris Connell and Kim (Val) Connell; brother, Vernon (Trinda) Connell; brother-in-law, Al Foley; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Lillian Foley; half-sisters, Bertha Jean Whitman and Florence Ruggles; half-brothers, Warren, Merle, Ivan, Floyd and Walter Connell. By request cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 27, 2024, in Middleton Baptist Church, 111 Commercial St., Middleton, with Rev. Dr. Danny Smith officiating. Donations in memory may be made to the Middleton Baptist Church or to a charity of choice.
