BENEDICT, Lorraine Lois - age 81, of New Albany, Annapolis Co., passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at home. Born on January 10, 1934, in Maple, Ont., she was a daughter of the late George and Flora (McBain) Cooper. Lorraine was devoted to her family and enjoyed time spent playing scrabble, working on puzzles and staying in contact with everyone through social media. In her younger years she also enjoyed music, dancing and playing the piano and accordion along with Harley on guitar or fiddle. Surviving are her sons, David (Karla), New Albany; Larry, Orilla, Ont.; daughter, Joanne (Fred) States, Pictou; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, with another one due any day and another due in May 2016; sister, Terry Cooper, Mississauga, Ont. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Harley John Benedict. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service. Donations in her memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or to the Victorian Order of Nurses, Annapolis Valley Branch.
