M Roline
Maccarthy
September 10, 1928 – January 10, 2011
MacCarthy, M. Roline-82 of Auburn, it is with extremely broken hearts we announce the passing of our mother, Monday, January 10, 2011 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Mom was born September 10, 1928 in Rockville Notch to the late Clayton and Elsie (Crouse) MacMaster. Mom had many stories and fond memories of growing up helping her father in the mill, many long walks to school in Harmony and watching the Beaver play in the Mill Pond. Mom was very proud of her heritage and so pleased to be part of the MacMaster Mill Park. She owned and operated Greenwood Beauty Salon for many years until her retirement. Mom always enjoyed curling, playing darts and bowling, but most of all her grandchildren. She loved spending her summers in her trailer in Black Rock. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Paul) Spicer, Auburn, their daughters, Laura (Ryan) Croft and great granddaughter, Morgan Croft; Jodi (Kirk) Spicer-Outhouse; daughter, Katherine (Myles) MacCarthy - Bent, Paradise, her son, Evan (Nicki) Morse; sisters, Phyllis MacMurtry, Middleton and Doreen MacMaster, Rockville Notch, and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 7:00 to 9:00PM, Thursday, January 13, 2011 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448, from where the funeral service will be held 2:00PM, Friday, January 14, 2011, with Rev. Danny Smith officiating. Private family interment will take place in the North Kingston Cemetery. Many thanks to Drs. Don Clark; Christina Mercer and staff at the Valley Regional Hospital for all the care they gave Mom, also special thanks to the VON for their many visits and care over the years, Mom thought so much of all of you. By request, family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to the VON Annapolis Valley Branch or the SPCA (Mom was very much an animal lover).
