PATTERSON, Madelyn Esther – 91, of Berwick, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 22, 2026, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, NS. Born in West Paradise, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Leila (Poole) Bent.

Madelyn was a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and worked at Western Kings Memorial Hospital in Berwick.  She retired after many years caring for others in a rewarding career.

Surviving is her daughter Kim (Alex) Stevenson, Quinan, NS; son Jim Patterson, Grafton, NS; grandson Alex (Megan) Patterson, McKinney, Texas; great-grandson Grey; great-granddaughter Emmy; and sister Joan (Charlie) Lane, Halifax, NS.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Gerald Alexander "Gerry" Patterson; brother Donald Bent; sisters Marjorie Walker, Bernice Bowlby, Lois Simms, Freda Lambright, and Martha Bent.

In keeping with Madelyn's wishes, cremation has taken place. A service to celebrate her life and lay her to rest in the Berwick Cemetery will take place at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
