ANNIS, Margaret Joan - 84yrs, of Bridgetown formerly of NictauxFalls passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014 in the Annapolis Community Health Centre. Born in Nictaux Falls, she was a daughter of the late George and Ola Belle (Barkhouse) Saunders. Margaret worked as a telephone operator for Maritime Telephone and Telegraph in Kentville and Middleton. She loved fishing, enjoyed baking and crocheting stuffed toys. Margaret dedicated her life to raising her family. She is survived by her sons, David Annis, Ontario; John Annis, Mount Uniacke and Edward (Bonnie) Annis, Nictaux; her sister, Wyona Edmonds, Berwick; her brothers, Paul (Marilyn) Saunders, Nictaux and Earle (Ellen) Saunders, Cambridge, NS and her grandchildren Justin Annis; Shawn Annis and Toni Zinn and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Merle Clayton Annis and her brothers Robert Saunders and Ralph Saunders. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Friday, January 10, 2014 in the Nictaux United Baptist Church with Rev. Bill McLeod officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Interment will be in the Nictaux Cemetery at a later date. We would like to thank the nurses and staff of Mountain Lea Lodge for their excellent care and compassion while Mom was there.
