MAGEE, Margaret Mae - 81 of Melvern Square passed away peacefully Saturday, May 9, 2015 in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in North Kingston, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Maria Margaret (Greenlun) Freeman. In 1953, Margaret married Bertwell Magee and they raised 6 boys, with much of that responsibility being Marg's, and as Bert said, "she did an outstanding job". While raising the family, she was also employed, having worked at Archibald Coal & Oil, Halifax, Dalliard Ladies Fashion, Mark's and Spencer Clothing and the T. Eaton Store, all in Mississauga. During those early years they moved several times from Halifax to Kitchener, Ontario, back to Halifax, then on to Montreal and then back again to Ontario. Marg and Bert eventually came back to Nova Scotia, settling in Melvern Square. She is survived by her husband Bertwell; sons Brian, Cole Harbour, Roy, Melvern Square, Allan (Chris), Oakville, Ontario, Tim (Lisa), Gary (Cathy) and Jeffery all of Mississauga, Ontario; sister Audrey Thibodeau, West Dalhousie; brothers John Freeman, Greenwood Square and Lawrence (Louise) Freeman, Kingston; grandchildren Shannon, Brett, Patrick, Rylee, Katie, Jacob, Cassidy, Matthew and Megan; great grandchildren Marley, Evy, Candace and Cassity and several nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by a brother Charles, step-mother Phyllis Freeman and step-sister Christine Veinot. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 17th at the Kingston United Church, Rev. Michael Mugford officiating. Interment will be in the North Kingston Cemetery.
