WHELAN, Margaret Ann "Marie" - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who died in hospital after a lengthy illness on February 24, 2013. Born June 1, 1934 in Nelson, NB. She was the daughter of Burnley and Gertrude Whitney. She is survived by children, Dawn (Murray); Tom (Margaret); Colleen; Kerry (Michelle); Beth; grandchildren, Stephanie, Matthew, Ryan, Tyler, Caleigh, Daniel and Patrick as well as her great grandchildren, Phelan, Payton and Vince. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Vince and by son Danny. She loved to laugh and enjoyed being surrounded by her friends and family. We will all miss her so much. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 7:00 to 9:00PM Saturday, March 2, 2013 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00AM Monday, March 4, 2013 in St. Monica's Roman Catholic Church, Middleton with Father Joseph Thomas officiating. Interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Kingston. Many thanks to the ICU staff at Valley Regional Hospital and the staff at Soldiers Memorial Hospital.
