Margaret "Anne"
Mason
December 11, 1945 – February 26, 2018
Margaret "Anne" Mason (1945 – 2018) Anne passed suddenly at home on February 26. Anne was born and raised in Springfield, NS where she resided with her parents and siblings. Anne was a studious individual, always striving to achieve perfection. Following the completion of her schooling, Anne was the first of the Mason children to leave rural Nova Scotia and move to the "big city" where she began working as an administrative assistant for 40 years at Stewart McKelvey law firm in downtown Halifax. She was always very proud of her accomplishments; treating her parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews whenever she could. Anne would travel back to the homestead in Springfield every weekend to be with her family and when her parents' health began to deteriorate, Anne selflessly took it upon herself to arrange care for them when she couldn't be there herself. Illness prompted her retirement and for her final 8 years, Anne moved to Canning with cousins, Edward and Robert Aim, in a hilltop palace overlooking the Annapolis Valley. It is there that she passed, already halfway to heaven. Anne is predeceased by her parents, Francis and Lucienne (Longley). She is survived by her six siblings: Harold (Maxine), Springfield; Miriam (Carl) Whynacht, Lunenburg; Elaine (Robin) Alford, Nanaimo; Louis, Hantsport; Ed (Donna), Moncton; and Muriel (Karl) West, Kingston. As well, many nieces and nephews survive her: of special note are Sherry,Bridgewater, Shelley (David) Zinck, New Germany, and Robert (Kelly),Boston. Her most precious niece, Rebekah, Vancouver, will forever hold memories of her Aunt Annie in a very special place in her heart; other nieces and nephews: Kevin Mason; Billy and son BJ Whynacht; Elizabeth (Whynacht) and Trevor Guiles and children Breanne, Sianna and Carolina; Dominique (Alford) and Mark Crisp; Adrienne (Alford) and Sandy Burt and sons Owen and Ben; Kimberley (Mason) and Chris Robb and children Rachel and Sarah; Jonathan and Jennifer Mason and daughter Emma; Jennifer (Mason) and Jeff Collins; Laura Mason and Nick Bauer; Christian and Alanna West; Jessica (West) and Chris Bungay and children Carter and Riley; Anna (West) and Ahad Shafiq; Christopher Zinck, Jennie Zinck; Ben Lake, Matthew Lake and Taylor Lake; Ryan Mason and Gregory Mason. Anne will be remembered for always having the best candy readily available for visitors to munch on and for never forgetting a loved one's birthday or special occasion. Her custom cards were always a joy to open, particularly when accompanied by a crisp bill for the little ones. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 7:00 to 9:00 pm Friday, March 2, 2018 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St. 902-825-3448 from where a celebration of Anne's life will be held at 2 pm Saturday, March 3rd with Rev. Leon Langille officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Interment will be in Falkland Ridge Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to Falkland Ridge Cemetery or to a charity of one's choice. Online guestbook may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
