WHITMAN, Margarette LaVaughan "Marg" – age 96 of Belleisle formerly of Lawrencetown passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 in the Annapolis Community Health Centre. Born in Middleton, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Ada (Salsman) Grant. Marg was a member of the Lawrencetown United Baptist Church, Ladies Sewing Group and Bridgetown quilters. For many years she participated in the Nova Scotia Senior Games. She was best known in the community for her excellent knitting skills and assisted many others with their projects. Marg loved her family and friends and spent her life helping them and enjoying their company and the times they shared. She is survived by nieces, Ruthann (Berney) Kleinpaste, Kentville and their son, Jeff (Jessica) Kleinpaste, Alberta; Helen (Andrew) Hardy, Granville Centre; Joyce (Les) Smith, Belleisle; Wendy (William) Knowlton; New Minas; nephew Glenn (Marsha) Grant, Belleisle; sister-in-law, Leona Grant, Belleisle and numerous great nieces and great nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Lewis; sister Elsie Naugler; brother Freeman Grant; niece Joan (Chet) Barteaux and great nephew Colin Barteaux. In keeping with Marg's wishes there will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held 11:00AM Tuesday, February 7, 2017 in Lawrencetown United Baptist Church with Rev. Patty Beals officiating. Interment will be in the Whitman Cemetery, South Williamston. A reception for family and friends will follow in the church hall. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory may be made to the Whitman Cemetery, Lawrencetown United Baptist Church or to the charity of your choice.
