Obituary

WILKINS (Tye), Marilyn Joyce ~ It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and wife at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital in Middleton, on January 9, 2020. Born in Rivers, MB, Marilyn, age 66, was the daughter of the late Lillian (MacDonald) and Allison Tye. She is survived by her husband, Terry; sons, Clinton, Travis (Kendra); and grandchildren, Cadence, Max, Eli, Kennedy; brothers, Allison (Leslie), David; and sister, Susan (Scott) and several nieces and nephews.  Marilyn was known for her never backing down from a challenge. She was incredibly proud of her two children, Clinton and Travis, and she loved travelling around the world, especially her trip with Terry, Clinton and Cassandra to India. Marilyn will be remembered for her tireless commitment to the community and her passion for helping others. She proudly served the people of Annapolis County as councillor for more than 25 years, including time as deputy warden. She dedicated herself to numerous causes and organizations over the years, including the Kingston Fire Commission, Middleton Regional High School, Melvern Square Community Centre, and extensive involvement in community heritage initiatives. Her work has touched many lives and we know that she will be fondly remembered by those who knew her. In keeping with Marilyn's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2020, in Kingston United Church, 733 Main Street, Kingston, with Rev. Dr. Christine Marie Gladu officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow in the church hall. Donations in memory may be made to the Kingston United Church. Family flowers only. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448. Online guestbook may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
