Obituary

Morton-Creelman Marion, age 75, Kingston, passed quietly at home, surrounded by her family on April 25th. She was a daughter of the late Marguerite and Austin Nixon. Marion's early years were spent in Margaretsville going to school in East Margaretsville and Middleton. She moved to Ontario then made Halifax home until retiring to the Annapolis Valley. Marion loved to meet people and made many friends during her Sundays at church, bridge games, bowling, golfing, and travelling. She loved to read books, play scrabble, play cards with family, watch her Blue Jays, and never missed any event her two grandchildren were participating in. During her years in Halifax she met and married Bryan Morton, having one child, David. Her life at this time revolved around her son, weekends in Bishopville and escapes with Dorothy and Ed Hicks. The passing of Bryan saddened Marion, but her strength carried her on. Marion then met Lou Creelman and married in 1984 until his passing. The adventure really began the day she met Lou. Her life was filled in ways she would of never imagined. A once in a lifetime trip to Europe, New York city (with the best tour guide in the world, her niece Joanne), seeing the Toronto Blue Jays play on home turf, a trip to the west coast, Caribbean cruises, Nashville to listen to her favourite Country music, Disney World, turtles in cars, winters in Florida, grand-children (twins), learning to golf at 60+, and last but definitely not least, welcomed Lou's family with open arms and heart. Peter (Tim), Blair (Tracy), Donna (Ray), Danny, Joyce, Wendy, and their children. Marion is survived by her son, David (Susan), grandchildren, Bryan, Sheridan Holt (Clayton) and great-granddaughter Ellie. Her sister, Winnie, brothers, Everett (Peg), Ralph (Doris), predeceased by her sister, Pauline and husband Cecil, and several nieces and nephews. Marion's family would like to thank all of the Home Care providers, and the Palliative Care team for the excellent care during such a difficult time. A special thank you to Pastor Libby Amirault for the spiritual uplifting you have provided and will continue to provide. There are no words Joanne Plachta-McKeown. The family would also like to thank Winnie Lightfoot (Marion's sister) and Mary Lavigne (Marion's best friend), for all the love and support you provided during Marion's illness. You are loved.
