Obituary

WAGG, Joan Marion -
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Marion Joan (Rice) Wagg at Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown, on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. Formerly of Berwick, she was born in Lequille on July 14, 1932. She is survived by her children, Joanne (Rodney) Hebb, Lake Paul; Donna (Jerry) Jackson, Dartmouth; Florence (Bernard Luc Tremblay) Wagg, Harbourville; Brenda (Don) Blair, Cole Harbour; and Len (Sandy) Wagg, Wellington. She took great joy in her 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Katherine Kaulbach, Bridgetown; Eileen Barclay, Toronto, Ont.; and brothers, Corey Rice, West Paradise; Edward (Marilyn) Rice, Moncton, N.B.; Lynwood Junior (Barb) Rice, Lequille, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Leonard Wagg; her parents, Emily Morrison (Ritchie) Rice and Lynwood Hathaway Rice; her brother, Frank and his wife, Frances; sister-in-law, Pauline Rice; and brothers-in-law, Don Barclay and Earl Kaulbach. Mom cared for her family as they moved to many cities across the country where dad's military career took them. Mom returned to her beloved valley in 1969 to raise her family while working at various jobs. After the death of her husband in 1979, she moved to the Halifax area where she volunteered at hospitals and nursing homes before again returning to the valley. Mom was a renowned tea leaf reader. She always had a cup of tea and great conversation ready for anyone who graced her door. Mom had an infectious sense of humour and loved to tell stories. She enjoyed spending time at her camper at South Mountain Park, as well as reading, gardening, and painting. Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m., Thursday, October 25th, both in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., 902-825-3448. Rev. Deacon Don Boudreau officiating, with a reception to follow. Interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Kingston, for family. We would like to thank the staff and administration at Mountain Lea Lodge for the love and support they have shown our mother over the past four years. Family flowers only. Donations in Mom's memory may be made to Mountain Lea Lodge Staff Fund or a charity of your choice. Online guest book may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
