Obituary

Marjorie Florence Pace (McMahon)    July 7, 1920 - April 17, 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of Marjorie Pace announces her passing, in Theodore Health Center, Saskatchewan, on April 17, 2021. She passed peacefully in her sleep at 100 years young. Marjorie was the daughter of Benjamin and Florence McMahon (Letts). She was predeceased by her husband Borden Pace, two sisters May Harding and Joyce Harrison, and her brother Frank McMahon. She is survived by her children Edward (Heather) and Catherine (Robin) and her grandchildren Ted (Krista) and Leah (Shawn) as well as her great grandchildren Camryn and Nathan and step great grandchild Morgan. Marjorie was born in Montreal and the family moved back to the family farm in Aylesford at an early age. She was drawn to nursing and she graduated from The Childrens' Hospital in Halifax. She served her country as a Lieutenant in the army nursing sisters corp while stationed at Basingstoke, England during World War II.  Marjorie married Borden on June 2, 1947 and after raising their children and helping him run the family grocery store (Pace's Grocery) on Chebucto Road, she returned to nursing as the Head Nurse in the CSR at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax. After retiring from nursing, Marjorie and Borden settled in Margaretsville where she was very active in the community and the church. When Borden passed, Marjorie moved west to live with Catherine and Robin in Calgary, then Springside and finally in the Theodore Health Center until her passing. Marjorie has been cremated and interment of her ashes will be at a later date in the Bay View Cemetery in Margaretsville. Marjorie had an infectious laugh which was known to bring a bright spot to any day.  She inspired many more people t han she realized and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
