Marjorie Ethel
Parker-Dorey
November 3, 1959 – August 1, 2025
PARKER – DOREY, Marjorie Ethel ~ Age 65, of Kingston, Kings Co., N.S., left this earthly existence for her glorious heavenly home onAugust 1, 2025. Born in Granville Ferry, N.S., Marjorie was the 10th child in a family of 14 children. Marjorie became a born-again Christian as a teenager and Christ became the center and foundation of her life. She has faithfully served Him ever since.
After high school, Marjorie attended Bible College in Maine, until she got sick and had to return home. Since then, she struggled with her physical and mental health over the years but has always depended on God to help her overcome these challenges. Since December 2024, she resided at Tibbetts Home For Special Care, Wilmot. Her health had slowly declined in the past several months and she entered Valley Hospice, Kentville last Wednesday. Her stay there was very short, and she passed away on Friday.
Marjorie enjoyed life and was a very special person, who loved connecting with people and had many wonderful friendships throughout her lifetime. Anyone who came into her presence was sure to get a hug. Marjorie loved music and in her younger years she had perfect pitch and sang like a bird. Her other love was clothing, and she had an extensive wardrobe to prove it.
Marjorie achieved many personal goals in her life but her biggest accomplishment was getting her driver's license in her mid-50s and buying a new car. This new independence and freedom gave her a new lease on life and much pleasure and enjoyment.
Marjorie will be forever remembered and missed by her siblings, Rupert Jr., Mary Alice (the late Joe), Rosanne (Bill), Shirley, Darlene (Fred), Dorothy (Brian), Beverley, Peggy Lee, Lawrence (Sharon), Michael (Tracy) and Andrea (Claude). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who always looked forward to hearing her unforgettable, amusing stories.
She was predeceased by her parents, Rupert and Marjorie (Bailey) Parker, her husband, Thomas Dorey; brothers, Richard and George; sister, Melody Robin in infancy.
Visitation will take place from 1 until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 7, both in Trinity Pentecostal Church, 468 Central Avenue, Greenwood. Rev. Mitchell Lewis officiating, with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lequille. Family flowers only, donations in her memory may be made to Trinity Pentecostal Church or to your favourite charity.
