Marjorie Bernice
Tanner
July 20, 1930 – September 25, 2024
Marjorie Bernice Tanner (nee Carver) , born July 20, 1930, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, in Oakwood Terrace in Dartmouth Nova Scotia, at age 94. She was the only adopted child of the late William Carver and Charlotte Thompson. She was raised on a farm on the South Shore of Nova Scotia and always enjoyed the company of pets and farm animals. She was married to Randolph Thomas Tanner for 55 years and together they enjoyed a very active social life. For many years they resided in the Annapolis Valley but always loved to return to their roots on the South Shore. Marge had a great sense of humour and she loved a household of friends, and she always said that her friends were very important to her. She developed Alzheimer's in her later years but always remembered her dearest friend, Barbara Faulkenham. Everyone she encountered she invited by for a cup of tea and a visit, no visit was long enough. For many years Marge especially enjoyed playing bridge. Marge and Randy played cards with their friends several times a week. In their younger years they enjoyed attending dances with friends. Sundays were spent going for a drive and visiting friends. Marge is survived by her son, Dwight Tanner; and daughter, Charmaine (Glen) Potter; two granddaughters, Emily (Dan) Levesque and Erica Potter; and three great grandsons, Sam and Ben Levesque and Tanner Boudreau. She was predeceased by her husband, Randy in February 2004; and an infant daughter, Linda Lou at birth. There was no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448. A private family graveside service took place at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 16, in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton, with Rev. Sue Channen officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to your favourite charity. A special thank you to the staff at Oakwood Terrace for their years of exceptional care and kindness.
