Obituary

WARD, Marlyn Joye ~ Age 87, Cambridge, Kings Co., passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, with her loving family by her side. Born on October 25, 1933, in Berwick, Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late Murray and Evelyn (Schnare) Bond. In her younger years Marlyn enjoyed singing in the local church choir. She first worked at the Scotian Gold roadside canteen in Coldbrook and later at Valley Stationers in Kentville, retiring as an order clerk with 26 years of service. Marlyn was very family oriented and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving are her common law husband of 46 years, David G. Hiltz; daughter, Darlene (Rick) Illsley, Middleton; son, Ken (Michele Ritchie) Ward, Coldbrook; grandchildren, Cody (Grace), Brandon, Andrea, Beth, Ryan and Dianna; great grandchildren, Maia, Brody, Hunter, Tyson, Kashton, and Shannon. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Garnet Bond.  A memorial service, by invitation only, will be held in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448, with Pastor Christina Bigelow officiating. For those unable to attend in person a live webcast of the service will be available for viewing on the funeral home website at 1:55 p.m. ADT, Monday, March 15, by selecting the "Live Stream" option at the top of the home page. Interment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeville, at a later date. Family flowers only, donations in her memory may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses – Annapolis Valley Branch.
