PUMPHREY, Martha Hilde ~ Age 74, of Greenwood Kings Co., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, in the Valley Hospice, Kentville. Born in Vienna, Austria, she was a daughter of the late Stephan and Margaret (Schnoeller) Haromy. Martha worked for the Province of Alberta for many years until the family moved to Greenwood, NS in 1978, where she worked for DND until her retirement in 2002. Martha enjoyed an active lifestyle, reading, music, and travelling. She especially loved going on cruises with her husband.  Martha is survived by her daughters, Mary Pumphrey, Calgary, AB; Susan (Mike) Hudgins, Stony Plain, AB; sons, James, Peterborough, ON; William, Trenton, ON; Robert (Kim), Thunder Bay, ON; brothers, Alois Haromy, Robert "Bob" (Karen) Haromy both of  Edmonton, AB; 11 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Martha was predeceased by her husband, James "Jim" in 2020. In keeping with Martha's wishes, cremation has taken place. Due to the current pandemic, a private memorial mass took place at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 26, in the Queen of Heaven Chapel, Greenwood, with Padre Magnus Chilaka officiating. Donations in memory may be made to Lung Association of Nova Scotia or Heart & Stroke Foundation or to charity of choice.
