Bent, Mary Alberta – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary A. Bent, age 94, on Friday, October 28, 2022. She was born May 20, 1928 in Victoria Vale to the late Gordon and Gladys (Carey) Banks. She was predeceased by loving husband, Malcolm "Mack", son Kevin, sister Vivian Pierce. Mary deeply loved her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved all dogs, going shopping, watching the children play sports, "The Heart of the Valley Days parade", long walks, ice cream trips, watching her soap operas, and cooking for her family. (None of us will forget her famous raspberry pies, dill pickles, ginger snaps or coffee cookies) She took great pleasure in greeting her friends at church every Sunday with a big smile and a hug. Mary was a part member of the Rebekah Lodge and a member of the Victoria Vale Baptist Church. Anyone who knew Mary also knew (or at least heard of) Ricky Martin!  Ricky was Mary's beloved pomeranian. She is survived by daughter Linda (Philip) Hemeon, New Glasgow; daughter-in-law Diane Bent, Middleton; sister Millie Banks, Margaretsville; brothers Ron Banks, Dartmouth; Wayne Banks, Timberlea; grandchildren Michelle (Matthew) Brown, Melvern Square; Sherri Bent, Nictaux; Sarah (Steven) Burton, Kingston; Jessie Hemeon, Kentville; Josh (Carla) Hemeon, Alberta; great grandchildren Logan and Peyton Brown; Dyson and Ava Bent; Nate, Nik, and Nolan Burton; great great grandchild William Brown. The family wishes to thank Barb and Rose at the  Kennedy's Home for Seniors in Kingston for all their love and care of Mary. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 5, 2022 in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street (902) 825-3448 . Rev. Lloyd Gillieo officiating. Interment in Nictaux Cemetery.
