Obituary

Keddy, Mary Elaine - 90, of Kingston, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Tremont, she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Eva (Ward) Creemer. Previous to moving to Kingston, Mary spent most of her days in Aylesford with her late husband Bertwell Keddy, who she was married to for 57 years.

Mary was a kind, caring, generous and loving person.  She always had a big smile and was ready to give you a hug and a kiss.  She had a way of making everyone feel loved and important. She was concerned about everyone's wellbeing and kept up to date on how everyone was doing.  Mary loved cooking and baking and was always prepared to feed whoever walked through the door and she made sure everyone had something to eat when they visited. She was always making cookies, pies, apple sauce or other preserves.  She also had a great love for classic country music and enjoyed going to music jam sessions or just sitting and listening to it.

Mary was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was grateful and proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved to hear stories of what the great grandchildren were up to and enjoyed watching videos and pictures Ian had taken of their activities.

Surviving are her daughter Elaine, New Minas; daughter-in-law Darlene Keddy, Millville; grandchildren Christine Brown, New Minas; Ian (Melissa) O'Brien, Greenwich; Greg (Dianna) Hutt, Kentville; great grandchildren Daniel Brown, Eva and Emily O'Brien, Victoria (Nathan) Ells and Stephanie (Connor) MacDonald.

Mary was a pillar in her little neighborhood having lived there for the past 23 years.  The family wishes to thank Mary's close-knit community for all their support and a special thank you to Sharon for all the extras she did.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Bertwell; son Aubrey; son-in-law Donnie O'Brien, daughter in infancy; sisters Blanch, Opal, and Jean; brothers Sam, Mark, Robie and Perley.
