Obituary

LESLIE, (nee Lawson) (Book) Mary E. – age 88, of Bridgewater, NS formerly of Port Mouton, Margaretsville and Berwick, NS, passed away Friday, January 26, 2018 at Ridgewood Assisted Living Centre in Bridgewater, NS. Born April 17, 1929 in Yarmouth, to Donald and Lillian (Hagen) Lawson, Mary was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mary was a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Ortona Branch No. 69, Berwick, as well as being very active in both church and community work. Her hobbies and interests included knitting and travelling. Mary will be sadly missed by her sons Richard (Carol), William (Helen), Robert (Cathy), David (Connie), Michael (Elise) and Kenneth (Connie); step children Valerie (Donald) Inness, Harold (Pearle) Leslie and Mary Lynn (Ronald) Connelly; 10 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 6 great, great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her first husband, Allan B. Book (1994) and her second husband Cyril A. Leslie (2013); siblings Joyce, Marjorie, Murray and George. Visitation will be 12 pm to 2 pm Wednesday, January 31st in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St. toll free 1-855-825-3448, with a Funeral Service commencing at 2:00 pm officiated by Rev. Elizabeth Amirault. Interment will follow the service in the Bay View Cemetery, Margaretsville. Family flowers only please.
