MELANSON, Mary Jane Margaret ~ Age 74, of Kingston, Kings Co., passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born on March 15, 1951, in Berwick, Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late George M.R. Carter and Joan E. (Nixon) Thornhill.Mary Jane's greatest love was her family and many friends. Surviving are her husband of 56  years, John A. Melanson; son, William "Billy" (Natasha) Melanson, Berwick; daughter, Wanda (Mike) Suhonos, Kingston; grandchildren, Samantha, Kayla, Alicia, Robert, Zoe, Cody, Morgan and Summer; great grandchildren, Jayden, Liam, Connor, Khloee, Hailee, Gavin, Delayne, Izabella, Dessa and Saskia; brother, Kevin (Rosanne) Carter, Lincoln, N.B.; sisters-in-law, Janet Carter, Kingston; Janey Carter, Berwick; Connie Carter, Bridgewater and Barbara (Dennis) Robichaud, Nictaux; brother-in-law, Clyde Wells, Bridgewater;  several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Janet Wells; brothers, LeRoy "Roy", Robert and Peter Carter; fur babies, Mazie, Terra and Tipy. Visitation will take place from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., followed by the memorial service at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 29, in Berwick & District Volunteer Fire Hall, 300 Commercial Street, Berwick. Rev. Andrew Conrad officiating, with a reception to follow. Interment will be in Berwick Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to Berwick & District Volunteer Fire Department or to Valley Regional Hospital Foundation.
