TRECARTIN, Mary Etta 95, of Port Williams, NS passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2011 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Bridgetown, she was the daughter of the late Leander and Grace (Jenkins) Whitman. Mary graduated from the Saint John General Hospital in 1936 as a Registered Nurse. Later she and her husband moved to Quebec and spent many years there before retiring back to Nova Scotia and residing in Port Williams. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Trecartin, Halifax; son, Whitman (Gloria) Trecartin, Cole Harbour; grandsons, Jeffrey (Angela) Trecartin, Matthew (Corina Klattenhoff) Trecartin and great-granddaughter Alena all of Cole Harbour. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Frank; sister Myrtle and brothers Harold and Leander. The family wishes to thank Mrs. Paula Morine of Port Williams NS for the exceptional long term care which she provided to Mary. Funeral service followed by a reception will be held 11:00AM Monday, January 10, 2011 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. Rev. Karen Ralph officiating. Interment will be in the Whitman Cemetery, South Williamston. Donations in Marys memory may be made to the Whitman Cemetery or to the charity of your choice.
