MaryAnn Sylvia Kwantes (Hicks) ~ 80, passed away peacefully at Valley Hospice after a brief battle with cancer.
She was predeceased by husband William (Bill) Kwantes and stillborn infant son William Joseph and her parents, Beatrice and John Hicks.
She is survived by daughters, Nancy Feener (Brian), Pereau; Nelly Thompson, Nictaux; Janet Baker (Steve), Greenfield; son David Kwantes (Ruth), Halifax. Also survived by siblings, John Hicks, Bob Hicks (Sheryl- deceased), Martha Stewart (Harold), Darlene Witty (Terry), and many nieces and nephews (especially her niece Patricia); four grandchildren; Jillian Feener (Joel), Hamilton, Ontario; Cara Feener (Evan), Pereau; Nathan Rose (Kirsten), Kamloops and Melissa Sheaves (Peter), Kingston; two step grandchildren Stephanie Baker (Brock), Digby and Matthew Baker (Chelsea), Halifax. She also has many great grandchildren Jacob, Carolyn, Isaiah, Lilly, Kadence, Maren, step great grandchildren Samantha, Adam, Jack, Baker, and Jack.
MaryAnn's family, whom she loved with all her heart, her faith and her friends were her life.
We would like to thank her VON, Home First Workers, all medical care givers and especially all the staff at Valley Hospice where her last days were made very comfortable.
Donations in memory can be made to Valley Hospice, Kentville or Bridgetown Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be held at Middleton Funeral Home, Friday October 27th at 11 a.m. with Rev. Janet Baker officiating. Reception to follow. The service will be livestreamed and available to watch beginning at 10:55 a.m. by selecting the "livestream" option at the top of the funeral home's webpage. Burial at Chegoggin Cemetery, Yarmouth with Rev. Steve Baker officiating.
