Obituary

Maxine Mildred Giffin

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our Mother, Maxine Mildred Giffin, age 88, at Soldiers Memorial Hospital Middleton on Thursday, April 14, 2022 with her children at her side.

Born in Middleton January 21, 1934, Maxine was a daughter of Hazel and Laurie (Dick) Lightfoot.

Mom was above all a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mom worked for many years as manager of Tower Jewellers in Greenwood and New Minas but at heart she was a true homemaker. She passed along her many talents for cooking, baking, sewing and knitting to her children and grandchildren and we are grateful to have learned from the best.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband John of 62 years and sister Audrey Lightfoot.

Maxine is survived by her children Michael (Nancy), Debra Robichaud (Wayne), Cheryl Harris (Peter), Steven (Shelley) and Tracey (Dan Pearson). She is also survived by her grandchildren Tess, Tara and Martina Giffin, Jennifer, Brad and Beth Robichaud, Josh, Jacob, Lindsey and Caleb Harris, Sarah and Samantha Giffin, Carly Giffin and 23 (and a half) great grandchildren. Sisters Dianne Parker, Zelma Davidson and Lorie Saulnier. As well, Mom is survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank Morn's caregivers Judy Balcom, Jenny Hoffman, Tammy Saunders and Wendy Lightfoot for their wonderful care and helping us keep Mom in her home as long as possible. We would also like to thank Dr. Surette, Dr. Smith, Dr. Elliott and the 3 rd floor nursing staff for caring for Mom with such tenderness and compassion. We will be forever grateful for your kindness.

A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free 1-855-825-3448 with Rev. Dr. Danny Smith officiating.
