** FUNERAL SERVICE RE-SCHEDULED **

Due to the current winter storm and bad road conditions the funeral service as been postponed and rescheduled for 1:00 p.m., Sunday (January 16)

Theriault, Melvin Douglas – Age 74, of Bridgetown, Annapolis Co., passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022, in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Digby, he was a son of the late Harry and Queenie (Falcon) Theriault. Melvin grew up in Bear River from 1947 – 1960. He attended Dalhousie University, graduating in 1978, with 4 ^th year History Degree with Honours. He also attended one year of Law School at Dalhousie University. Melvin enjoyed writing, having completed a novel, "Son of Liberty of Patrions Vol. #1". Melvin worked as a sawyer for 10 years at a sawmill in Liverpool. Lastly he worked for Nova Scotia Corps of Commissionaires. He is survived by special friend, Odile Boyd, Bridgetown and her son, John, Bridgetown; half-sister, Diane Williams, England. Melvin was predeceased by his uncles, Frank and Doug Theriault, and Josephine Rice. There will be no visitation by request. The funeral service has now been rescheduled and will be held 1 P.M., Sunday, January 16, in Middleton Funeral Home , 398 Main St., toll free 1-855-825-3448. Rev. Elizabeth LeGassie officiating. Burial will take place following the service in the Riverside Cemetery, Bridgetown. Due to the current Covid 19 Pandemic Restrictions, there is a limited number of seating available for the funeral service, with masking, hand sanitization and proof of vaccination and ID being required.
