Obituary

BALZTER, Michael - age 62 of Dempsey Corner passed away peacefully in his home, July 1, 2020, held by his children and close family. Michael was the son of the late Paul and Shirley Baltzer. His only brother, Mark, predeceased him just three months ago. He is survived by his loving children, Thomas and Emily, their mother, Rhonda, and his partner, Lisa Hewson. Michael's remarkable love for life and infectious humour carried through his home and spirit until his last moments. He was a graduate of West King's and Teacher's College and received a Masters Degree in Administration from Acadia University. He taught school in Aldershot, L.E. Shaw, Kingston and later became Vice Principal at Dwight Ross and then Principal at Bridgetown Elementary. Following his retirement, Michael was Principal at Hector Thibotout Community School in Sandy Bay, Saskatchewan. His long list of accomplishments proves Michael's dedication and love for teaching kids. His contagious personality had such a positive influence on the school's and their surrounding communities. Michael was always up for an adventure and took great pleasure in playing golf and riding his Harley Davidson. His family would like to thank his many friends who supported him throughout the last months of his life. A special thank you goes out to the Kingston Legion. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St. toll free 1-855-825-3448. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
