Michael Thomas "Mick" Fitzpatrick

FITZPATRICK, Michael Thomas “Mick” ~ Age 83, Berwick, Kings Co., N.S., passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at home, with family members at his side. Born on October 2, 1943, in Pembury, England, he was a son of the late Thomas and Rose (Reid) Fitzpatrick and had roots in Newfoundland.

During his years in England, Mick had worked in retail, working as a manager in a supermarket and had been a member of Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes. He later worked at Pete’s Frootique Fine Food. Mick loved gardening, time spent in nature, and feeding all the wild animals. He was a member of Berwick & District Lions Club, loved to work along side fellow lions, and had received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award in 2006.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, the former Linda M. Hyde; sons, Kevin Otway and Darren Fitzpatrick; daughters, Tracy Meier and Sharon Strawbridge; grandchildren, Elizabeth, James and Emma; great grandchildren, Oliver, Ava, Holly, Reagan and Theo; sister, Val; brothers, Steven and David. Mick adored all of his children and the family pets.

All are welcome to attend a time in Celebration of his life from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 14, in Berwick & District Lions Club, Kings Mutual Century Centre, 250 Veterans Drive, Berwick.
