WHITMAN, Michael Gene ~ age 65 of Lawrencetown, NS passed away suddenly on August 3, 2023 at home. Born in Kentville, NS he was the son of the late Gene and Betty (Veinott) Whitman. Mike owned and operated Mik-Shar Trucking Ltd and Mik-Shar Farm along with his wife Sharleen. He was a past member of the Lawrencetown & District Volunteer Fire Department serving from 1979-1997 and was a great fan of watching NASCAR races on Sundays and enjoyed camping. Mike was very proud of his daughters and his grandchildren were his everything.  He was a cherished husband, devoted Dad and proud "puppy" to his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 43 years, Sharleen (Height); daughters, Miranda Gates, Grande Prairie, AB; Crystal (Evan) Weaver, Lawrencetown; grandchildren, Meghan Gates, Mason Gates and Connor Weaver; son at heart, Alfred Crouse, Lawrencetown; brothers-in-law, Bud Height and Kevin (Michele) Height, both of Nictaux; mother and father-in-law, Madelaine and Richard "Dick" Height, North Williamston; nieces Katrina Kellough, Jessica Height, nephew Morgan Height; and aunt, Sadie Veinott, Middleton. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his uncle Gerald Veinott. In keeping with Mike's wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held 2:00PM Sunday, August 13, 2023 in the Whitman Cemetery, South Williamston with Rev.
