Mildred Georgia Belle Legere

LEGERE, Mildred Georgia Belle ~ age 79, of Kingston, Kings Co., N.S., passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026, surrounded by loved ones in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Mildred “Millie” was born on November 18, 1946, at the Hawk, NS, and was the daughter of the late Robert and Hilary (Crowell) Brannen. Being a daughter from a military family, she traveled to several Canadian bases as well as a posting to Germany.

Millie met her loving husband, David, at the age of 18 while posted to Gagetown with her parents. They married in 1965 and shared many happy years together until David’s passing in 2021. Over the course of their life and marriage, they raised two wonderful boys and witnessed the birth of six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Millie and David’s marriage would see them posted as far east as Shelburne NS and as far west as Cold Lake, Alberta as well as three years posting to Holland.

Millie took on many roles throughout her life but her most cherished role was that of a loving wife and mother. Her family was her world as she was theirs.

Millie is survived by her two children, Robert Legere (Crystal White) of Kingston; and Richard Legere (Kimberly Burrell) of Greenwood; her six grandchildren, Lucinda (Paul), Robert (Rachel), Emily, Melissa (Michael), Steven (Ella) and Ryan; sister, Sharon; brother, Gary (Dorothy), sister-in-law, Flora (the late Stanley); nine great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Millie was predeceased by her husband, David; sister, Joan; brother, Stanley; and nephew, Christopher.

Millie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Due to Millie’s medical condition, she was admitted to Valley Regional Hospital on numerous occasions. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the doctors and nursing staff for the overwhelming kindness and support they offered during each and every visit. To the doctors, nurses and support staff at Valley Hospice we cannot thank you enough for the compassion and outpouring of love you showed to Mille and her family. You helped us navigate through some extremely rough days. We will always think of you with extra love and be forever grateful. The family wishes to thank Wolfville Nursing Home, who provided care and comfort for Millie during the past number of months.
