Payson, Mildred Margaret (nee Lewis)

1929 - 2024

Our beautiful mother Mildred died on March 1, 2024 in Evergreen Home, Kentville.

Mom was a passionate reader, writer, teacher. A devout Christian with strong beliefs and was prepared to stand up for them no matter what the cost.

She touched many lives throughout the years and people would seek her out for knowledge.

But most of all she loved her family and we loved her back. Her love was unwavering and unconditional.

We will miss her.

I am standing upon the seashore.

A ship spreads her white sails to the morning breeze

And starts for the ocean.

She is an object of beauty,

And I stand watching her

Until at last she fades from the horizon.

And someone at my side says,

"She is gone? Gone where?"

Gone from sight, that is all.

And just at that moment, when someone says "She is gone"

There are others who are watching her coming.

Other voices take up the glad shout,

"There she comes!"
