West
February 14, 1942 – May 17, 2016
WEST (Faulkner), Mildred "Anne", age 74 of Kingston, passed away in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, on May 17, 2016. Born in Dartmouth, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Margaret Faulkner.
Anne was a member of the RCAF Airwomen's Association, Catholic Women's League of Canada, RCAFA 107 Valley Wing and the Trefoil Guild of the Girl Guides of Canada.
She was a Life Member and long-time volunteer at the Kingston Legion. She was the Membership Chairperson for thirteen years, held various Executive Committee positions and volunteered on many other committees over the years including Bingo which she loved to play. Anne was a caring person who was always there to help others. She enjoyed knitting and many of us can happily attest to the warmth and comfort of the socks she made. Anne, her family and many others are very proud of the over 1,000 dolls she knitted for children in impoverished countries. She will be missed by all.
Surviving Anne are her daughter Kelly, sons John and Raymond, granddaughter Kacie and sister Catherine. She was predeceased by her husband Ray.
A memorial service will be held at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 98, 1472 Veterans Lane, Kingston, on Friday May 20 at 2 p.m. Private burial at a later date. Donations in memory of Anne West may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Royal Canadian Legion Branch 98 Memorial Fund.
