Obituary

MacDonald, "Millie" Mildred Carmeletta - 85, of Grand View Manor, Berwick, formerly of Greenwood Square, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.  Born in Harcourt, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Garfield and Christina "Chrissy" (Beers) McCleary.

Millie was a fabulous cook and worked at The Metropolitan in Greenwood. She finished her working career at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital cooking in the kitchen until her retirement. Millie was well known for knitting her beautiful dishcloths and doilies. A life member of the Bluegrass Association of Nova Scotia, she and Vic enjoyed bluegrass music together. Since 1983, Millie was a devoted member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 98, Kingston.

Surviving are her sons, Brian MacDonald (Fran), Jack MacDonald (Kate); daughter, Devina (Fern) Hetu, all of Greenwood Square; grandchildren, Alicia (Jody); Jason (Kyla); Bonnie (Brian); April (Michael); Kassie (Shawn); Tonie (Tyler); Marc (Sebastian); great grandchildren, Joshua, Hayley, Eva, Taryn, Kalib, Trinity, Ethan, Jane, Jude, Oliver, Heidi, and Rachel; great great granddaughter, Jordyn; brother, Bliss and Arnold; sister, Freda, all of New Brunswick.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband James Victor "Vic"; and daughter, Patricia MacDonald Morse; son-in-law, Philip Morse.

In keeping with Millie's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2026 in the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 98, Kingston, with Chaplain Wade Seymour officiating. Interment in North Kingston Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
